Rifle Frolic 2015 - Labor Day Weekend

General Information..... Please Read!!!!

*Early set up is Thursday with Primary being Friday.
* Tear down is as late as Monday.
*Camps are to be set up behind the fort with parking below down a path.
*No Parking in front of the fort during the event. This is due to the fact that the fort is still open to the public and parking is limited in front of the fort.
*Ice Call will be in the evenings.
*Restrooms and water are inside the fort. Showers are located across the road from the parking area in the modern camp ground.
* Remember that this is a pre-1812 event. Although this is not a juried event the fort is still open to the public and we should do our absolute best to not misinform patrons.
*All articles of camps, clothing, and wares for sale must fit this criteria. Any article that does not will be respectfully asked to be removed. (No Western Fur Trade era is accepted... ie. tipis, buckskin pants etc. etc.....
*Please keep all modern things out of sight. (coolers, Modern clothing, etc.) The only exception to this will be side dishes for the potluck. But please try your best to have them in a period appropriate container.
*This weekend is designed to be fun and enjoyable. Safety is always the absolute concern, but lets try our hardest to ensure everyone is having a good time.
*The Schedule is tenative and subject to change.
*All prizes, targets, and meat were donations from artisans, volunteers, and the Boonesborough Foundation. Be sure to thank them when you have the opportunity.

*There will be a donation jar that people can use to help the event for next year. This year we are operating solely on donations and volunteers. The donations will go to making the event better next year and also buying prizes if needs be.

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!

Here is some Range Information !!!!

*All Weapons will be inspected by Range officer for safety/ functionality at the time of registration.
*During registration you will receive a rifle slip.
*To compete in events involving firearms each person must show their slip. This will ensure that everyone has registered and we are mitigating liabilities.
*NO SMOKING on the range
*Weapons will be checked upon entering and leaving ranges. This will help prevent any loaded weapons being in the camp.
*During the woods walk and Seneca run no weapons will be carried through the courses loaded.
*The shoot will be operated in groups of four or five moving through the course at a time. Each shooter of that group may load but not prime their flintlocks at each target. When it is their turn to shoot, they will then prime on the line and fire.
*NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 will be able to participate or carry a firearm at Fort Boonesborough. This is a state park rule.
* Range Officers have the final ruling in scoring judgments.
* Everyone has the responsibility to ensure each others safety. Anyone can make a safety call if carelessness is seen!!!

** The range will be made up of approx. 15 targets. There will be various distances and sized targets. The shots will all be ones that could be commonly made while hunting with your flintlock. Different shooting positions will also come into play.

The original Fort Boonesborough was built by Daniel Boone and his men in 1775
