The Fireside Chats kicked off for 2016 with a program that examined with much humor the garments of a woman in the 18th century. Costumer and seamstress Maggie Waterman Roberts arrives at the chat with all the finer touches of a colonial lady. But off comes the hat, gloves and apron. As each layer comes off Maggie describes in detail the reason for the piece of clothing the type of material it was most often made of and other details and tidbits from one well acquainted with the fashion of the day.
